Abstract-

The present research paper explicitly investigates the relationship between the attitude towards E-learning and the level of Social Maturity among Higher Secondary School Students. Higher Secondary Students (50 male and 50 female) from grades 11 and 12 was drawn from various Schools in the Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh using the Stratified Random Sampling technique. Standardized instruments, namely the ‘Attitude towards E-Learning Tool’ by Dimple Rani and the ‘Social Maturity Scale (SMS)’ by Dr. Nalini Rao, were administered for data collection. The organized quantitative data was statistically treated using Mean, Standard Deviation, independent t-test, and Pearson’s Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient.

The empirical findings revealed: (1) No statistically significant difference exists between male and female Students regarding their attitude towards E-learning (t = 1.42, p > 0.05). (2) No significant gender-wise variation was found in baseline social maturity scores (t = 0.62, p > 0.05). (3) A highly significant positive correlation (r = 0.38, p < 0.01) was discovered between students’ Social Maturity and their perception of digital instruction. (4) A statistically highly significant difference (t = 2.84, p < 0.01) was confirmed between high and low Social Maturity groups, proving that students with high Social Maturity possess a drastically superior and adaptive mindset toward virtual learning environments. In conclusion, while gender gaps in digital spaces are vanishing, individual Social Maturity stands out as a strong psychological predictor for the constructive adoption of E-learning.
