Protecting Originality, Academic Integrity and Responsible Research

Shiksha Samvad is an International Journal of Multidisciplinary Research is committed to maintaining high standards of academic integrity, originality and ethical publishing. The journal strictly prohibits plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabricated content and the undisclosed or irresponsible use of Artificial Intelligence tools in research and manuscript preparation.

01 Plagiarism Policy

Plagiarism includes the use of another person’s words, ideas, arguments, images, data, results or other intellectual work without proper acknowledgement. It also includes inappropriate paraphrasing, unattributed translation, duplicate publication and the reuse of an author’s previously published material without suitable citation.

01. All submitted manuscripts may be screened through recognised similarity-detection software.

02. The acceptable overall similarity index should ordinarily remain below 15%, excluding references and properly cited quotations.

03. Manuscripts showing similarity between 15% and 25% may be returned to the authors for correction and resubmission.

04. Manuscripts showing similarity above 25% may be rejected, subject to editorial examination of the similarity report.

05. All sources, quotations, data, tables, figures and borrowed ideas must be properly cited and referenced.

06. Self-plagiarism and substantial reuse of previously published work without acknowledgement are prohibited.

07. A similarity percentage alone does not determine plagiarism. The editorial decision will be based on the nature, location, context and extent of the matched content.

08. If plagiarism is detected before publication, the manuscript may be rejected or returned for correction. If discovered after publication, the journal may issue a correction, expression of concern or retraction and take other appropriate action.

02 Artificial Intelligence Content Policy

The journal recognises that Artificial Intelligence tools may assist authors with limited language improvement, grammar correction, formatting, coding or technical support. Such tools must not replace the author’s original intellectual contribution, critical analysis, interpretation or responsibility for the manuscript.

✓ AI tools may be used for limited language editing, grammar correction, formatting or technical assistance.

✓ The manuscript must reflect substantial and original human intellectual contribution.

✓ AI-generated or AI-assisted content must not exceed 20% of the total manuscript.

✓ Artificial Intelligence tools cannot be named or credited as authors or co-authors.

✓ Authors must clearly disclose the use of AI tools whenever such tools materially assisted in preparing the manuscript.

✓ Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, citations, arguments, data and conclusions presented.

✓ AI tools must not be used to fabricate data, generate false references, manipulate images or produce misleading information.

✓ Confidential, personal, unpublished or sensitive research material should not be uploaded to external AI platforms without appropriate permission and safeguards.

03 Disclosure of AI Use

Where Artificial Intelligence tools have been used, authors should provide a brief disclosure statement in the manuscript or during submission. The disclosure should identify the tool used and clearly explain the purpose for which it was employed.

Suggested Disclosure Statement

“The author(s) used an Artificial Intelligence-assisted tool only for language improvement and grammar correction. All scholarly arguments, interpretations, references and conclusions were verified and approved by the author(s).”

04 Responsibilities of Authors

✓ Authors must verify every reference, quotation, statistic, fact and research claim included in the manuscript.

✓ Authors must retain relevant data, documents and supporting records where required for editorial verification.

✓ Authors must disclose substantial AI assistance, funding information and all potential conflicts of interest.

✓ Authors must respond honestly and promptly to editorial queries concerning originality, similarity or AI use.

✓ Submission of a manuscript constitutes confirmation that the work complies fully with this policy.

05 Policy Enforcement

01. Manuscripts that substantially violate the plagiarism or AI content policy may be rejected without external peer review.

02. Authors may be asked to revise the manuscript or submit an explanation, source files and supporting evidence.

03. Published articles found to contain serious violations may be corrected, withdrawn or retracted.

04. Authors involved in serious or repeated misconduct may be restricted from making future submissions.

05. Where appropriate, the author’s institution, funding organisation or another relevant authority may be informed.

Author Declaration

By submitting a manuscript to Shiksha Samvad International Journal of Multidisciplinary Research, the author or authors confirm that the work is original, all borrowed material has been appropriately acknowledged, all facts and references have been verified and any permitted use of Artificial Intelligence tools has been transparently disclosed. The authors remain fully responsible for the integrity, accuracy and reliability of the submitted manuscript.
